Riverbend Youth on Fire:

“To share the amazing gift of God’s unconditional love with the youth of the Riverbend, allowing His presence to fuel a fire deep within the depths of their being”

Riverbend Youth on Fire is a non-profit organization, with 501c3 status.  This organization is funded through the support of local area business.

For 2007, Riverbend Youth on Fire has joined forces with local ministerial alliances and WIBI to bring Josh McDowell to our area. During 2006, the first year of operation, one major event was implemented along with several other projects. One of the projects included the youth volunteering to provide assistance to needy families during Thanksgiving. The major event was bringing Ken Freeman, an evangelistic speaker, to the Riverbend area. Ken Freeman was able to speak at 5 area middle & high schools, Edwardsville Correctional Facility and Midtown Theater in Wood River. The outcome of this was over 700 people attended the Midtown Theatre events with 140 decisions made.

Although our goal is to continue organizing such events, we aspire to provide a more consistent youth support and a facility to house ongoing daily youth activities. To give them a venue to unite with other Christian young people that are like-minded. A place to share their faith, a place to bring their friends, a place to refuel and a place to experience life changing encounters with God.”

“As long as our student’s faith is grounded in what they see and experience, their faith will always be fragile - totally dependent upon their ability or inability to interpret the events and circumstances around them” - Andy Stanley
